Last week I went to the beach. I left my cell phone behind. I took just my sketchpad and pencils.

DeleteThese sketches are so beautiful and alive, Patricia :) Yay for you leaving the cell phone behind. Don't know if I could do it, not having a way to be contacted. Amazing how technology changes lifestyle, but staying away from it for a few days is proven to spark creative thinking and thinking, in general. Those EMFs and everything else connected with it are not so good :\ LOVE the sketches that came from your day :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words! I did have withdrawal from my cell phone, and I did miss some important emails, but it worked out. I'm really glad I did it, but don't know if I could do it again, haha!
DeleteGreat interaction between the girl and the seagull! It's hilarious to fill in the blank between the first where the seagull is trying to chat with the seagull floatie and the one where the girl is now flat on her back in a deflated floatie that may have been punctured by the seagull's beak—and that seagull is still trying to figure out the girl. But on second viewing, I'm not sure if the girl is making a sand angel in the surf while the seagull pecks at her nose. In any case, I love how the friendship develops between the girl and the seagull. I also love the swayback kids with their boards.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of the girl laying in/on her deflated seagull floatie is SO funny! I hadn't thought of that! You are definitely a writer! I should sketch that up like a cartoon strip! That's a wonderful idea! I'm so glad we met!
